I am honored to have the opportunity to run for the District 7 state seat. On my website you’ll find news on the campaign trail, my positions on the issues, District 7 map, how to donate or volunteer, and much more.
I currently serve as Public Relations Director for the City of Mansfield. I have also worked as a journalist/photojournalist for over 10 years, reporting for several newspapers and covering numerous national stories. My career in journalism and public relations has helped place me in extraordinary positions making it possible for me to lend support to local government entities, non-profit organizations, and a variety of local businesses.
Holding these positions has also given me a deeper understanding of municipal budgets and the impact of state legislation on communities, and housing, environmental, and economical issues.
And as I talk with so many of you, it’s clear we are all passionate about protecting our rural lifestyles and share a strong sense of pride in our communities. Yet, we also know there is much more to be accomplished in our district and our state.
While working with these communities and government entities, I’ve discovered that the different layers of government must find new and better ways to work together. Our small towns, villages and communities like Logansport, Keithville, Southern Hills, Zwolle, Stonewall, Pleasant Hill, Frierson, Stanley, Grand Cane and many others all have a lot to offer. But only by working cooperatively can we rise to meet the challenges of governing in the twenty-first century.
If I am fortunate enough to serve as your next Representative, I will work with the local governments in our district to find fair and innovative solutions to the challenges we face on issues of taxation, zoning, transportation, land use and many other issues that seem to hinder growth and vitality. I will fight to ensure that our district has the resources and leadership to attract and maintain the first-class jobs, education, and quality of life. Working together, our elected officials can be a unified voice for an even stronger community.
